Mommy's Boy!

It seems like calling someone a "Momma's Boy" has been a derrogatory term in the past, but after last week, I LOVE it! I picked Jon-Mical up to put him in his carseat and my engagement ring scraped his arm. Here is how the rest of our conversation went:

Jon-Mical -  "Ow! What was that?"

Me -  "That was my engagement ring."

Jon-Mical - "What is an engagement ring?"

Me - "This is the ring that Daddy gave Mommy when he asked me to marry him."

Jon-Mical - "What?"

Me - "Daddy said, "I love you sooo much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I want you to come and live with me in my house forever." (Those weren't his exact words, but I thought they'd do the trick. It was definitely NOT because I forgot what he said!)

Jon-Mical immediately begins to cry. I asked him what was wrong and HE SAID (!!!!)....

"But I want to marry you! I want to live with you forever!"

Yep, he said that! And, of course, I said ok... Yep, he's a Momma's Boy!

Also, here are some pictures of Jon-Mical's FIRST T-Ball Game!!! It - Is - AWFUL! But he loves it and he is too cute out there! AND he is batting 1000 after his first game! Look out, Babe!

And, I just thought this one was funny! :)

It is official.

Well... it's official: I suck at blogging. My last post was on April 17. Wow. Many things, of course, have happened since then. We are out of school for summer! Whoop! Josh is taking a summer class and so he is still busy most of the time, but the kids and I have nothing going on these days! We just play outside most of the day! It is GREAT! Let's see... Since April...

1. I received my certification that I have been working on for months. I am now a Certified Personal Trainer through the International Sports Science Association. I am now working on my coursework to become a Certified Nutritionist. This is exciting for me. I honestly don't know what I want to do with this. All I know is that exercise and fitness seems to be one of the few things that I am TRULY passionate about. I would love to share this passion with others! But I still don't know what this means for me personally...

2. I broke Jakson's clavicle. Yep. We were getting ready for church one Sunday morning and Jakson and Jon-Mical were playing on the bed. I was standing close to the night stand to make sure that neither of them fell off and hit their head on it. Jakson instead decided to take a nose dive off the side of the bed RIGHT BESIDE me... he hit his head and fractured his clavicle. He was PITIFUL!

3. Mike, my father-in-law, and I ran in a Muddy Buddy race yesterday. It was 4.5 miles through the woods with 10 obstacles. The last obstacle was a mud pit that we had to crawl through. It was a BLAST! Jon-Mical also raced in the Mini Muddy Buddy! He LOVED it until... until he had to get muddy.... he then freaked out. Wow! Here are some pics:

So, life is pretty good these days! The kids are growing up so quickly! It makes me sad to know that my babies are not babies anymore. But Jon-Mical PROMISES me that he will ALWAYS be my baby and that he wants to live with me forever... umm... ok! Until next time... :)

Where has the time gone?

Well, it is definitely true that time flies when you are busy (...and having fun)! I just noticed that my last post was in January! Wow! Many things have happened since then!

Let's see...

I think that the last thing I blogged about was Jon-Mical's birthday party. The next big event was Jakson's FIRST birthday party! (Wow, the second child really does get the shaft!)

The birthday party was good! We had a Bubble Guppies themed party! I made the cake and I must admit that it was pretty cute! :)

Then in March Jon-Mical and I went to visit Pops at his new apartment in Tupelo, MS. We helped him decorate and it looks great! Jon-Mical and Pops are cute together! Pops always lies with a pillow in his lap... so, of course, Jon-Mical has to have one too...

Not long after we returned, Pops came to visit us! We all love Pops' visits!

Our spring has not been all roses and lollipops. We had a tough few days after our neighbors moved back home to Alabama. We met them a few months after moving in to our house in 2007. We had them over to our house to eat and instantly became friends. From that night on, we hung out with the Nichols' family a couple of times a week until they moved out last month. It was such an easy friendship that we will really miss. Jon-Mical and their son, Cameron, were also really close. Here is a picture from their last night together doing what they loved the most... playing video games :)

Josh and I started a tradition for the boys. Every year we take a picture of them in one of Josh's shirts. Here is Jon-Mical's 4th year and Jakson's 1st year:

Jon-Mical is on the White Sox t-ball team this year. Josh and I have started to worry that we put him in baseball too early. Baseball takes a lot of patience. Jon-Mical STANDS out in the field and then SITS in the dugout and WAITS to hit and then hits... then STANDS in the field again... too much standing. We thought that soccer would be better for a 4 year old... but, he sure does look cute in his little uniform!

Easter has come and gone. I have no pictures other than HALF of the cake that I made. I must admit that I LOVE making cakes all of the sudden!!! I wish that I could just open up a bakery and do it all day!

Last thing... I was the Prom Sponsor this year at school. This was Central Magnet's FIRST prom, so needless to say, I was slightly stressed about it. It went very well and I definitely had the hottest date there!

I just have to add this... I was digging through some old pictures at my dad's house and found this one! How did I stay away from him in high school???

:)
